Beijing Government Scholarship 2027 at BFSU

Comprehensive guide to financial benefits, eligibility requirements, and official application steps.

Scholarship Program Overview

This can be a fully funded scholarship—but that description needs a large asterisk. BFSU offers three funding categories, and most new bachelor’s, master’s and non-degree applicants should realistically expect the tuition-focused Category C award rather than an automatic monthly stipend. This guide provides a complete overview of the Beijing Government Scholarship, including eligibility criteria, categories of applicants, application process, required documents, and visa procedures.

This award is officially open for international applicants seeking full-time higher education programs. Selected candidates receive financial support throughout the standard duration of their degree.

What Does the BFSU Chinese Scholarship Cover?

Category A: Tuition, accommodation, monthly living allowance and medical insurance Category B: Tuition, accommodation and medical insurance Category C: Tuition and medical insurance Category A provides monthly living support of RMB 2,500 for bachelor’s students, RMB 3,000 for master’s students and RMB 3,500 for doctoral students. Category A and B recipients may receive free university accommodation or an off-campus allowance of RMB 700 monthly for undergraduate and postgraduate study and RMB 1,000 for doctoral study. The scholarship also provides medical insurance valued at RMB 800.

However, BFSU states that, in principle, only Category C is available to undergraduate, master’s and non-degree freshmen. These applicants should therefore plan to finance accommodation, meals, flights, visa-related expenses and daily life in Beijing themselves. Doctoral applicants may be considered for other categories, but the university decides each recipient’s final award level

Application Deadline

The last date to apply for the Beijing Government Scholarship offered by Beijing Foreign Studies University for spring 2027 entry is November 30, 2026. The university separately lists June 5 as the autumn-intake scholarship deadline. Applicants should apply—but with their eyes open. Category C remains a strong tuition-saving award; it simply is not the all-expenses-paid Beijing adventure that a careless “fully funded” headline might suggest.
